Also, I don't HATE Von Miller, I just don't know if he's a super dominant player like everyone makes him out to be.Jon Landrumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06285647002396519452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9311787837526355.post-49739655988904448892011-08-10T09:27:21.321-04:002011-08-10T09:27:21.321-04:00Since you hate Von Miller so much why not go with ...Since you hate Von Miller so much why not go with Elvis Dumervil as the Broncos biggest addition. There were a couple teams I gave myself a one game leeway on, just because I struggled to pick a few games, but I stuck to that schedule for the most part.

It really is dumb to make predictions independent of schedule. Given the nature of the NFL, it's impossible to be completely accurate in determining who a future tough opponent will be, but you can have a pretty good idea. And you're right, KC is a good example. As I said, I think Kansas City is a better team than they were last year, but they won't win as many games.Jon Landrumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06285647002396519452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9311787837526355.post-67237552299702894362011-08-09T19:14:14.250-04:002011-08-09T19:14:14.250-04:00I think most of the problems with previews is that...I think most of the problems with previews is that most people don't even look at the team schedules before picking their record.

Looking at KC: last year they won 10 games and added a few weapons on offense, so you assume they can make that win total or come close. But if you look at last year's schedules, other than a split with SD, they didn't beat a team with a winning record and was swept by Oakland. And with a much, much tougher schedule this year, some people are still predicting them to win the division. The stretch of @NE, Pitt, @Chi, @NYJ, GB will show how overrated they are this season.
This argument can be stated for any team that overachieved the previous year.
And what makes it funnier is that when the season is over that the sportscasting world has many specials about the "most disappointing/underachieving" teams when the sportscasting world was the only people hyping them up.Jeremy Bolingernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9311787837526355.post-25805107874748972812011-08-08T20:28:08.076-04:002011-08-08T20:28:08.076-04:00Eh, it's impossible to tell who has a "to...Eh, it's impossible to tell who has a "tough" schedule in the NFL. They get 4 should-be-freebies against Denver and Oakland...that's a good head start.Jon Landrumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06285647002396519452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9311787837526355.post-39487745883759477872011-08-08T15:46:25.880-04:002011-08-08T15:46:25.880-04:00I'll give the Broncos an extra win, make it 6 ...I'll give the Broncos an extra win, make it 6 (it must be great playing the Raiders twice every season!). And seriously, you're giving Norv 12?! Okay, I guess you're right, it's hard to imagine them underachieving that badly again. On the other hand, I still can't look back on last season and figure out where those 8 losses came from. He truly is special! I'm going with 11, just to be safe. Plus, they have a kinda tough schedule this year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
