Dude, I can't believe you guys didn't remember the Rex Grossman game when you were talking about 1.8 QB ratings!!! I was dying as I listened to you both saying you haven't seen a QB rating anywhere close to that. Don't you remember that fateful game when Rexy had a rating like that? I don't remember the exact number, but it was toward the end of the season, I'm pretty sure the same season they went to the Super Bowl! People were talking about it for weeks... it was awesome.
Yep, just found it... dude, this is creepy. His stats were almost IDENTICAL to Luke McCown's! Week 13, 2006: Chicago BEATS the Vikings as Grossman goes 6/19 (identical to McCown last week!) for 34 TOTAL passing yards (1.79 Y/A, vs. McCown's superior 3.11 Y/A!), with no TD's and 3 INT's (McCown has him there, with 4 INT's). The sum of all this: a 1.3 QB Rating - even worse than McCown last week!!!
Bonus stat: 4 weeks later, in their final regular season game, Grossman does best himself, posting the famed 0.0 QB Rating in a loss to GB, going 2/12, 2.75 Y/A, 0 TD, 3 INT.
10.2 QB Rating (week 6 vs. ARI- win!) 36.8 QB Rating (week 9 vs. MIA - loss) 23.6 QB Rating (week 12 vs. NE - obviously, loss)
148.0 QB Rating (week 2 vs. DET - win) 137.4 QB Rating (week 8 vs. SF - win) (Note: this was the game between the ARI and MIA games, above) 114.4 QB Rating (week 14 vs. STL)
Total: 5 games with Rating under 40 Total: 7 games with Rating over 100
Is this the only time that has EVER happened for a QB in a season? Elias... get on it!
I remembered the 0 QB rating game. Actually, I think I sorta referenced that, but I had totally forgotten about the 1.3 Special! One can only ingest so much crap before vomiting SOMETHING out!
