Even though I lose interested in baseball after the 14th month of the regular season (a thank you).....one thing that does annoy me is when people start talking playoffs and wildcard positions 30 games into the season. That's like saying a team is out of the playoff picture after 3 games in the NFL. I think a rule needs to be in place that the word "wildcard" cannot be uttered until at least 100 games into the season.
You mean like when people said the Red Sox season was over after the first two weeks? Honestly, I steer away from baseball as much as possible, but what else is going on right now?
There is plenty to talk about: the greedy billionaires trying to take money from the greedy millionaires of the NFL or the greedy billionaires trying to take money from the greedy millionaires of the NBA. Or how about how every major college is corrupted and tries to get away with everything because the NCAA is powerless or unwilling to stop them.
Yeah 'cause we haven't heard PLENTY about that already. Those aren't sports topics... those are business topics. And don't get me wrong, I can talk business and I work in a business context - but the reason I follow sports is because I want something else. And for once, I'd like to just talk about something that's actually happening ON A FIELD for a change. And right now, baseball is your only option. So take it or leave it.
Women's world cup????
