The Andrew Luck Sweepstakes -- A Sad Farewell

At least the Colts won something...
 The Dolphins win.

The Rams win.

The Colts lose. To Jacksonville. At home. By two touchdowns.

I know there’s still plenty of football to be played, but the Colts leave me no choice. I’m calling the race. It’s officially over. Colts win.

Summary:  Whether there are 6 games left or 600 games left, it’s pretty clear this thing is over. After all, it’s pretty tough to gain ground on a team that refuses to come even remotely close to winning a game. In their last four outings, Indianapolis has been outscored 137-27. No, that’s not a typo…they’ve been outscored by 110 points in four games! During that stretch, Curtis Painter has really hit his stride, overcoming an extremely fluky start to his season to firmly cement himself as the worst QB in the NFL (History? Maybe? Possible?).  Dubious of that statement? Check out this stat line:

Combine Curtis Painter with a defense that allows 30 PPG (I know, not all the defense’s fault…at this point, who really cares?), and you can see why I’m calling this thing after just 10 weeks. Playing Jacksonville at home was their absolute best chance at a win. After Sunday’s performance, can you honestly see them being remotely competitive in any of their remaining games? Yeah, me neither. Congratulations Colts, you really earned it!
