To be fair, McCoy's stats were way better in his 8 games in 2010, back before the right side of the Browns O-line turned into you and me, with our combined 300 or so pounds. Remember, Colt spent much of last year running for his life and throwing passes that hit Browns' receivers in the worst spot (the hands) as they led the NFL in dropped passes. I hated the Weeden pick and even though McCoy is never going to be Terrelle Pryor or Rex Grossman, I don't think the third best (if I'm being generous) QB of this draft was the place to look. I wish they would have given him another year and spent their draft getting a RG and RT as well as someone who can actually catch the ball.

ReplyDelete*caveat* McCoy's INT's were much worse in 2010 than 2011, but I think that just strengthens my case.
ReplyDeleteYeah, McCoy had a tough situation, but he just isn't an NFL player. Arm not good enough. Not enough size. They probably still have no QB.
